Belarusians and Lithuanians support Tibet
On March 17 the Tibet supporters vigil at Chinese Embassy unsanctioned by the local authorities took place in Minsk, Belarus. The vigil was held by the activists of "Jeans za svabodu!" (Jeans for Freedom!) movement. Raising Belarusian and Tibetian flags they unrolled broadsheet "Free Tibet!". For around ten minutes in spite of police attempts to break the action Chinese Embassy stuff heard sound slogans: "Freedom for Tibet!", "China, stop terror!", "Stop kill people!", "No repressions!"...

The wreath of barbwire was thrown to the gates of the embassy. The action finished with the police arrests. Two demonstrators – Palina Dzjakava and Paval Kurjanovic – were forwarded to the nearest municipal police office. Palina as underage was freed. Next day (18 March) Paval was sent down for 15 days.
“I understand all possible consequences participating in unsanctioned vigil. However 15 days of imprisonment is trifle in comparison with decades which were stolen by force from six million nation. The fates of Belarusian and Tibetian people are very similar: both are fighting for freedom and independence. International solidarity with Belarus saves our political prisoners. We could see ourselves how significant it, how important it, and therefore we support those who need such help much now. All Europe protests against the actions of the Chinese government. Belarus is not exception,” said Paval after the court sentence.

On March 19 the Free Tibet supporters vigil took place at Chinese Embassy in Vilnius, Lithuania. Together with Lithuanians there were Belarusians who participated in this vigil: students of European Humanitarian University (EHU, which was closed by the Belarusian regime and reopened in exile), as well as the activists of the Belarusian resistance movement "BUNT" (Uprising).
Demonstrators were holding Tibetian flags, broadsheets and banners "Free Tibet", "Stop terror", "Freedom for Tibetan political prisoners", "China, go out from Tibet" in Lithuanian, Belarusian, English and Chinese languages. They also demonstrated informational posters about inhuman actions of Chinese Government towards the people of Tibet. The Tibetian music could be heard too…
The Chinese Embassy stuff was observing the action through the windows; however none of them came out to meet the demonstrators. A petition of indignation regarding China’s policy towards the Tibetians was handed to the ambassador.
The vigil at Chinese Embassy will be continued until 12 AM of March 23.
